The Conquer The Overlook 5K & 282 Climb is coming back to the historic state park "Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook", Culver City! Come join us and bring your friends to challenge yourselves while benefiting the Aztlan Athletics Foundation! Bring your friends to this unique event and enjoy the beautiful cities of Culver City, Century City and Downtown Los Angeles. Run climb or walk yourself to the top!

  • $2000 in Total Pirze Money (Invatational Heat)

Course Description

Water stations will be available on the course and at the finish. Course includes a 360 degree view of the Los Angeles. Race will include the 282 stair climb as part of the 5K Run/Walk Course.

Directions to Start:

5K & Stair Climb event will start at the upper parking lot of the Baldwin Hill Scenic Overlook (look out for green start balloon arch) and will finish at the top of the 282 stair climb. Starts @ 6:00 P.M. It will be a chip Start/Finish

Registration Policy

Registrations costs are non-refundable after sale. While every effort will be made to conduct the event, the race will be postponed or canceled if the weather/conditions is judged to be hazardous to the safety of participants and spectators. Entry fees will not be refunded if the event is canceled.

Beer Policy

Note: State issued ID or Drivers License will be REQUIRED to access the beer garden. Must be 21 years or older. Wristbands will be given to those 21 and over. This will be strictly enforced.

Race Day Schedule

Volunteer orientation: 2:30 P.M. - located at the registration area.

Sponsors booth set-up: 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Race start times: 5K Run/Walk: 6:00 P.M.

Taco Fiesta Bar opens at 7:00 P.M.

Event will conclude at 11 P.M.

Awards Info

$2000 In total prize money | Female/Male

$700 1st | $200 2nd | $100 3rd (Overall)

T-shirt pick-up/Finisher Medal* -- Completion of the Climb Challenge.

Will take place in the expo area where participants can eat and have 2 complementary drinks. Note: Those entering the beer garden must be over 21 years of age and show proof of ID to stay in the garden during consumption. Access to cross fit and health/wellness booths.

Awards for top overall in each age division.

*Finisher medals for the first 1000 finishers

Each person that crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative "Exclusive Finisher die cast medal"

Dance under the stars until 11pm.

Additional Info

Race results to be posted near registration booth's day of event and online a day after.

Gear Check-Ins

Gear Check-in is available at the Atrium of the Baldwin Hills Overlook building TBA (adjacent to Upper Parking Lot). You may store items inside at your own risk. Your bib number or name will be written down to check in items. Please do not leave any valuables there. We are not responsible for any loss of items. *

Race Director

The Race Director, Jose Luis Zavala, (Aztlan Athletics) is in charge of the event; questions regarding course, venue, awards, conduct of the participants, etc should be directed to Jose Luis Zavala (626) 755-8489.

Event Day Parking

Free parking available inside the lower end of park and on streets surrounding Baldwin Hills Overlook.

VIP Parking

Participants will have limited parking at the top parking lot. This lot will be for staff, vendors, and VIP parking. VIP parking (limited by first come basis): $20 (can be paid at the entrance of the park) Note: The parking lot will also be the starting line for the 282 Stair Climb and 5K Race. NOTE: NO IN AND OUT PRIVILEGES after 5:50 PM

Limited Shuttle Service

Limited shuttle service will be provided from the entrance of the park (TBA) to the top parking lot (staging area). For those inclined, walking to the top lot is certainly encouraged, but be advised it is about a 15 minute walk up the road. So please allow sufficient time to make your way to the start line.
